A sake cup from the Ginga or Galaxy series, the signature work of Sueyoshi Seiichi, a Ryukyu glass artist honored as a Contemporary Master Craftsman. Jet black glass and silver leaf come together into something that looks like deep space seen from beyond the atmosphere, a vast and mysterious glow you could almost be pulled into. Made at the RGC factory in Okinawa. Every piece is shaped entirely by hand, so size, color and the way the bubbles sit differ from one to the next. Not heatproof. Keep it out of the dishwasher and the freezer.
