Subscription Policy

This Subscription Policy governs MOGMOG rice subscriptions (Pick One and Omakase Three). It applies together with our Shopping Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Those policies continue to govern topics such as shipping and delivery, returns, privacy, payment security, and governing law. Where this policy sets out subscription specific terms, this policy controls for subscription orders. By starting a subscription, you agree to this policy and to the policies referenced above.
1. Eligibility
To start a subscription you must be of legal age to enter into a binding agreement in your state or region, provide a valid payment method, and have a shipping address within our delivery area. Our delivery area is described in our Shipping Policy, and age and capacity requirements are described in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
2. Our Subscription Plans
MOGMOG offers two monthly rice subscriptions:
- Pick One: a 2kg bag of a single variety you choose from our 12 white rices.
- Omakase Three: three varieties each month, 300g each (900g total). Over your first four months you receive all 12 varieties.

3. Authorization and Recurring Billing
When you start a subscription, you authorize MOGMOG, through Shopify and our subscription provider, to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis for your plan price plus any applicable shipping and tax, until you cancel. Subscriptions are billed on the 1st of each month. Your first charge is taken when you sign up, and your first box ships within about 2 business days. Payment information is handled securely as described in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. You are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file.
4. Automatic Renewal
Your subscription renews automatically each month and continues until you cancel it. There is no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time from your account (see Section 13). Before each renewal we email you twice: an early reminder on the 15th and a final reminder on the 23rd.
5. Order Cycle, Cutoff, and Changes
After your first box, your subscription ships every month on the 1st to the 3rd. Any change to your next box must be made by the cutoff, which is about 5 days before your billing date. Because months differ in length, the exact date shifts slightly, generally falling between the 24th and the 27th. Changes made after the cutoff apply to the following box. The same cutoff applies to any non subscription items you want added so they ship in the same box as your rice. Step by step instructions are in our subscription FAQ.

6. Omakase Three Rotation
When you sign up for Omakase Three, you choose your starting set once. The four sets then rotate automatically in a fixed loop (Set 1, Set 2, Set 3, Set 4, then back to Set 1), continuing from whichever set you started with, so you receive all 12 varieties over four months. For example, if you start with Set 3, your next boxes are Set 4, then Set 1, then Set 2. The rotation only advances when a box ships; skipping a month does not advance it. Your starting set cannot be changed after signup, and the order of the sets cannot be rearranged.
7. Adding Items to a Box
You can use Add to your next Subscription to include other products in your next box, so they arrive together with your rice. Make any additions by the cutoff; items added after the cutoff go on the following box. Added items ship in the same box as your subscription. Non-rice items are charged standard shipping for those items, added to your order. The free-shipping threshold is based on your whole order total (subscription included), so a qualifying order ships free. Please note that our rice subscription products (the Omakase sets and the 12 Pick One varieties) cannot be added this way; to change how much rice you receive or which variety, change your plan or variety instead (see Sections 5 and 8).
8. Switching Plans
You may switch between Pick One and Omakase Three at any time, in either direction. We do not recalculate or refund the difference for a box you have already been billed for; your new plan price simply applies from your next box. A switch made before the cutoff applies to your next box, and a switch made after the cutoff applies to the box after that.
9. Rescheduling a Box
You may delay an upcoming box one time. This pushes back only that single shipment; afterward your schedule returns to the normal monthly cycle, shipping on the 1st to the 3rd.
10. Shipping
Subscription orders ship at a flat rate that is the same across all regions, based on the total weight of the box: up to 5 lb is $6.99, 5 to 10 lb is $9.99, and 10 to 20 lb is $11.99. Orders over 20 lb are charged a rate by weight and region, shown at checkout. Non-rice items added to the same order are charged their standard shipping on top. You receive free shipping once your order reaches your region’s free shipping threshold. Because it is a single flat rate, subscription shipping is lower than our standard by-region rates, and it benefits customers in farther regions the most. Your monthly subscription amount also counts toward that free-shipping threshold, so subscribers start closer to free shipping each month — often just a small add-on away, at which point the entire order (your subscription plus any added items) ships free.

As a subscriber, shipping is a low flat rate by weight — and free once your order reaches your region’s threshold.
One 2 kg bag ≈ 4.4 lb — most single-bag orders ship for $6.99.

11. Changes to Prices, Plans, and These Terms
MOGMOG may change subscription prices, plan contents, or these terms from time to time. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any price increase or material change by email to the address on your account. Changes take effect from your next billing cycle after the notice. Continuing your subscription after the effective date means you accept the change. If you do not agree, you may cancel your subscription yourself from your account before your next billing date; subscriptions are not cancelled automatically.
12. Failed Payments
If a payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again over about two weeks: immediately, then after 3 days, 7 days, and 14 days, and we will email you each time. While a payment remains unresolved, we do not ship that box. If payment still does not succeed after these attempts, we place your subscription on hold rather than cancelling it. Once your payment succeeds or you update your payment method, your subscription and shipments resume.
13. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account, with no cancellation fee. Billing is on the 1st of each month, so to avoid being billed for your next box, cancel by the cutoff, which is 5 days before billing (generally the 24th to the 27th). After the cutoff, your next box is already locked and will ship, and your cancellation takes effect from the following month. Cancelling stops future billing; orders that have already been processed are not affected. Before cancelling, you will also see options to skip, pause, change varieties, or switch plans.
14. Returns and Refunds
Rice is a non perishable food item. Unopened rice in its original condition may be returned within 7 days of delivery, following the return process described in our Shopping Policy. If a box arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us at hello@mogmog.store and return shipping will be free. If a product becomes unavailable after your order is generated, MOGMOG may cancel that item or box and issue a refund, as described in our Terms of Use.
15. Relationship to Our Other Policies
This Subscription Policy supplements, and does not replace, our Shopping Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. The provisions of our Terms of Use, including product availability, account termination, limitation of liability, and governing law (the State of New York), apply to subscription orders.
