Subtropical Sea Sake Cup [亜熱帯の海ぐいのみ]
Made by Teruya Mitsunori, an Okinawa Prefectural Master of Craft. Coral reefs are called the cradle of life, and the reefs around Okinawa hold tropical fish in colors that look invented. The motif here is a small fish breaking the surface. The series is about that moment and about how much life the reef carries.
This one is aqua. A small cup that settles into the palm, sized for awamori poured a little at a time.
Every piece is made by hand, so size, color, pattern and the way the bubbles sit will differ from one to the next. Not heatproof. Keep it out of the dishwasher, the drying cabinet and the freezer.
