Aji-Nori Ohban is a seasoned seaweed flavored with dried shrimp, oyster broth, bonito flakes, kombu (kelp), and red pepper from Kyushu, Southern Japan. Ten bundles of small (8-cut) sheets are individually wrapped to keep each portion crisp.
The flavor is briny, smoky, and gently spicy, with a savory depth beyond a plain aji-nori. The layered umami reads from several directions at once. Lay the sheets over hot rice, wrap them around onigiri (rice balls), or use them as a quick umami layer in bento and chazuke (tea-on-rice).
