Genmaicha tea bags pair yanagi (willow) green tea with roasted brown rice, packed nine to a pouch. Each 10g pyramid sachet uses two roast levels of rice for a toasty, popcorn-like aroma.
The cup is gentle and grassy with a roasty backbone, less brisk than straight sencha and easy to drink with meals. Steep one sachet in hot water for about a minute. The pyramid shape gives the leaves and rice room to open fully.
