Underwater Flower Wine Glass [水中花ワイングラス]
Suichuka means a flower in water. Colored glass is worked into the thickness of the piece so that the bloom sits inside the wall rather than on it, and the edges stay soft the way a flower looks through moving water. The stemmed pieces pick up light from below. The plates and bowls change color with whatever light is over the table. Made at the VGCP factory in Vietnam for RGC.
This one is green. On a stem, so the color lifts with the light coming from below.
Every piece is made by hand, so size, color, pattern and the way the bubbles sit will differ from one to the next. Not heatproof. Keep it out of the dishwasher, the drying cabinet and the freezer.
