Made by Teruya Mitsunori, an Okinawa Prefectural Master of Craft. Coral reefs are called the cradle of life, and the reefs around Okinawa hold tropical fish in colors that look invented. The motif here is a small fish breaking the surface. The series is about that moment and about how much life the reef carries.
This one is aqua. Deep enough for a side dish or ice cream, shallow enough to show what is in it.
Every piece is made by hand, so size, color, pattern and the way the bubbles sit will differ from one to the next. Not heatproof. Keep it out of the dishwasher, the drying cabinet and the freezer.

Teruya Mitsunori, an Okinawa Prefectural Master of Craft, works from the sea and the forest of Okinawa. Subtropical Sea rose from the coral reef, a cradle of life, taking as its motif the small fish that leap between the waves. Yambaru Paradise turns to the yanbaru forest across the north of the island, and the many greens of the light falling through its leaves. His pieces hold both the brightness of the reef and the depth of the forest.
