Water Shadow Sake Cup [水影ぐいのみ]
Made by Tomori Ryu, an Okinawa Prefectural Master of Craft. Light reaching the sand through several meters of water. The surface seen from underneath. The color a sea cave takes when a shaft of sun angles in. Tomori has spent years on what water does to light, and this series is where that work arrives.
This one is green. A small cup that settles into the palm, sized for awamori poured a little at a time.
Every piece is made by hand, so size, color, pattern and the way the bubbles sit will differ from one to the next. Not heatproof. Keep it out of the dishwasher, the drying cabinet and the freezer.
