Milky Way “Tin Gaara” Bud Vase [天の川てぃんがーら一輪]
Made to order in Okinawa. Please allow up to 8 weeks for delivery. See our Ryukyu Glass Policy.
Tingara is the Okinawan word for the Milky Way. Silver leaf scatters through the glass as stars, and a luminous material in the body of the glass holds light and gives it back. Leave the piece under a lamp for a while, turn the room dark, and the band of stars comes up. On an island with few streetlights that sky is available most of the year, not only in summer. Hand formed in Itoman, Okinawa.
One stem is enough. The glass takes care of the rest.
Every piece is made by hand, so size, color, pattern and the way the bubbles sit will differ from one to the next. Not heatproof. Keep it out of the dishwasher, the drying cabinet and the freezer.
