Stone Path Egg Bud Vase [石畳ミニ卵一輪]
Made by Gaja Yoshihide, an Okinawa Prefectural Master of Craft. In the early sixteenth century the Ryukyu court laid an official road through Shuri using local limestone. Gaja took its worn surface into glass: flat planes of color set against one another like paving.
This one is blue. A small egg shaped bud vase. It holds the room even with nothing in it.
Every piece is made by hand, so size, color, pattern and the way the bubbles sit will differ from one to the next. Not heatproof. Keep it out of the dishwasher, the drying cabinet and the freezer.
